Not only is rock salt ugly to see now but later it will affect your landscape.

Winter is here and your probably using rock salt for ice control on driveways and sidewalks. Or it is being used by the town on the roads where you live. This is for our safety but this will no doubt get on you lawn and gardens. Damaging your plants and grass. Salt prevents water absorption and blocks water from being absorbed by the roots of plants and grass. It also affects the pH of your soil which can make the lawn more susceptible to weeds and disease.

Using gypsum is a great way to help reduce the damaging effects of salt. Gypsum can be applied around the base of your plants in your landscape or in the areas of your lawn where the salt might have landed.
